A 37-year-old woman threw caution to the winds when she stormed a church during vigil in a feat of anger and poured hot water on the face of a lady while prayers were ongoing.

Mrs. Joy Sunday, a mother of two, had before the act accused the victim of dating her husband and had reportedly warned her to stay away.

Joy was also alleged to have stabbed the victim’s sister who attempted to make peace when she stormed the Spring of Life Global Ministry, a church located at Giwa area of Agbado, Ogun State, where the incident occurred.

She was promptly arrested by the police on receipt of a complaint on the incident on Sunday, August 8.

He said that the suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Agbado divisional headquarters by the elder sister of the victim, Kelechi Samuel.

“The suspect came into the church with a container of hot water and poured it on her sister’s face, thereby causing her grievous harm.

“On that fateful day, while they were in the church, the suspect came as usual and started raining curses on her.

“But, as she tried to walk away from her, the victim tore her cloth in the process of pulling her back and it was that annoyance that made her to go home to boil water, which she brought back to the church and poured it on the victim’s face.

“When asked whether or not she was dating the victim’s husband, the victim said she can swear with anything that there is nothing between her and the victim’s husband”, Oyeyemi explained.
